               Rider Reiki Sessions

Sessions are typically 45-60 minutes long.

Reiki is usually performed using a massage table, however if a person has mobility or pain issues then other accommodations can be made.

The Reiki Practitioner's hands or held above certain areas on the body, however in some cases light, gentle touch may be used as well.

There are 7 main Chakras on the body where the Reiki Practitioner concentrates on during the session, and they are: (see Chart)

     *Crown Chakra

     *Third Eye Chakra

     *Throat Chakra

     *Heart Chakra

     *Solar Plexus Chakra

     *Sacral Chakra

     *Root Chakra

Reiki energy is experienced differently for everyone.  Some people feel a tingling sensation in the areas the practitioner is working on, some feel heat and some can even feel a cooling/thawing effect.  Most clients experience relaxation and peace.

What to do before your session:

You will want to have eaten at least 30 min prior to your session and try not to have a heavy meal.  Please limit your caffeine intake prior to your session, you will want your body's energy focused on your session and not digestion or processing caffeine.  Dress comfortably!  If you are doing a long distance Reiki session try to give yourself at least 10-15 min. before your session starts to relax and reflect on any thoughts or intentions you want to bring to your session.

What to do after your session:

Hydrate!! After doing any type of energy work it is very important to stay hydrated.  Your body will be processing and letting go of different unwanted energies and staying hydrated will help to flush out your system.

Reflect-It can be helpful after a Reiki session to spend a few moments reflecting on any emotions, thoughts and feelings you experienced during your session.  I recommend that people write in a journal or draw any insights that were experienced.  Feel free to spend some time after your session discussing any of what you experienced with your Reiki practitioner.

*** Reiki energy is used to clear any energy blockages in the body, because of this it is common to experience extreme emotions after your session.  Please make sure you contact your Reiki practitioner and let them know of anything your are experiencing.  ***

Equine Reiki Session

Reiki healing energy can be incorporated into the massage or done as its own session.

Just like in people horses's have chokras throughout their bodies.  Different Chakras can indicate to us what is bothering the horse or if an area needs to be cleared out.

Reiki sessions for horses are done very similarly to that with people.  The Reiki practitioners hands are held slightly above the horses body and healing energy is passed through the practitioner and into the horse.

Horses show signs of release by licking, chewing, yawning, or even falling asleep!

Reiki can be done while massaging the horse as well, which is the most common form people want to do.
